東日本大震災物故者の七回忌

3月11日（土曜日）、東日本大震災物故者の七回忌法要はMCCGCで行いました。土曜日ということもあり、多くの家族の参加がみられました。40人余りの現地人、子供や日本人コミュニティの方々です。現地人と子供にとっては、日本の伝統的な仏教儀式に参加できる、いい機会になったのではないでしょうか。

法事が終わってから、絆コーラスや八木トシミさん、ロフリー　クニ子さんから歌の披露がありました。そして、災害と関係のある二人の現地人からメッセージがありました。

災害が起こって６年。日本から遠く離れたオーストラリアの人々は東日本大震災物故者のことをいつまでも覚えています。

On Saturday, March 11 the 7th Memorial Service of the Great Eastern Japan Earthquake and Tsunami was held at the Multicultural Communities Council Gold Coast. Because it was a Saturday, many families could attend. Almost 40 people attended and they included many locals and children as well as the Japanese community. For the locals and the children it was a good opportunity to experience a traditional Japanese Buddhist ceremony.

After the Hoji, there were many songs sung by the Kizuna Choir, Ms Toshimi McHugh-Yagi and Ms Kuniko Lofley. There were also messages of sympathy by two local people who are connected to the earthquake disaster.

Even though six years have passed since the disaster and even though Australia is very far from Japan, the people of Australia still think of the victims of the Great Eastern Japan Earthquake and Tsunami.
